April Oakland Bulletin: Compensation Survey, New Local 21 Organizer, Upcoming Delegate Assembly

April is here and so is our newest Oakland Bulletin and as usual, there is a lot of important information in this issues. Here are the highlights:

  • Our front page story is the details of our Compensation Survey with the City of Oakland in preparation for negotiations. This should not be confused with equity adjustments. Understanding the difference between the two is covered on page 3.
  • If you are interested in proposing an equity adjustment for your classification, details on what you need to do is on page 9 and we have attached a spreadsheet to make that easier for you. The deadline for submission to our bargaining team is Friday, April 21.
  • We are happy to welcome our new Organizer, Omar Taylor, to Local 21 in Oakland. If you haven’t yet met him, you will soon and can flip to page 5 for more information on Omar.
  • Also on page 5 is information on available parking at the Port of Oakland ramp on Washington Street. Attached is an application for parking if Members want to take advantage of the reasonably priced, by limited spaces available at the Port.
  • Information on our May Local 21 Delegate Assembly, including how to register and an announcement of our guest speaker, Angie Wei, is on page 7.
  • Citywide trainings is on page 8.
