Port of Oakland Newsletter: FMLA Service Credits, November Election Endorsements, Labor Day Picnic, And More!

Here's a list of highlights from our September newsletter for Local 21 Members at the Port:

  • Professional Development Funds was the topic of a recent Labor Management Meeting. For a review of which requests get funded, check out the front page article.
  • Page 2 of our newsletter has an interesting article about how No Strike language is historically linked to Binding Arbitration, as well as a little more information about what Labor Management Meetings are.
  • There is a follow up article on Service Credits as it relates to FMLA from last month’s membership meetings as well as questions on which premium pays are pension-able on page 3.
  • The endorsements for Oakland Ballot Measures and starting to roll in.   • Don’t forget that there is an Alameda Labor Council Family Picnic on Labor Day, September 5 that will feature real-life Rosie the Riveters from World War II. More information is on page 6.
