Political Action
T. J. Anthony Political Education Fund
Contributions to the union's Committee on Political Education (COPE) Fund go a long way towards advancing our interests. The people we elect and the issues we support have a direct impact on our paychecks, pensions and the resources available to do our jobs effectively. COPE helps elect officials who support issues important to our members. COPE also makes sure our jobs are secure by working on legislation and public policy issues. Our COPE Fund is named for T.J. Anthony, who recognized both the importance of union representation and member participation in politics. Anthony helped bring San Francisco legislative aides and personnel professionals into our local. He also left a legacy of passionate advocacy on behalf of gay rights and social justice.
