Delegates Review Signs of Turning a Corner

On Saturday, June 9, nearly 100 Local 21 Delegates attended our Union’s Delegate Assembly at the Hotel Whitcomb in San Francisco.

Instead of a keynote speaker, Local 21 screened an exclusive video interview with Robert Reich where he discusses the labor movement and U.S. economy.

Delegates also received a presentation about what’s been happening in Local 21 jurisdictions and how we’re seeing the first signs of turning the corner beyond years of concessions and budget cuts, as well as how our “21 Unsung Heroes” branding campaign has made a difference in San Francisco. We are ready to launch a similar campaign in Contra Costa County.

Attendees also took part in one of two workshops on “Public Speaking” and “How to Run a More Effective Meeting.” Both trainings were designed to enhance chapter leaders’ skills and provide opportunities to connect with and learn from other leaders.
