Message from Tenants Together on Volunteering at Tenant Hotline

Do you believe in economic justice for renters and have the time and ability to volunteer? Consider becoming a Tenant Hotline Counselor to help tenants assert their rights, get back their security deposits, stay in their homes after foreclosure, and pressure landlords to make repairs.

For many parts of the state, the Tenants Together hotline serves as the ONLY resource for tenants to get reliable information on their rights. Join Tenantes Together’s effort to build the movement for renters’ rights while gaining skills, meeting new people, and making a difference in the lives of families across the state.

Volunteers are expected to commit to at least 3 hours per week at the Tenants Together office located near Civic Center BART in San Francisco. The Hotline operates Tuesday through Friday, 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., and Monday evenings from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. No previous tenant rights work necessary. Spanish language skills are highly appreciated.

Next training: January 12th and 13th from 5:30pm-8pm (both days required)
