Farewell and Best Wishes to Local 21 Policy and Political Director of 8 Years, Rachel Richman

After over eight years of service with Local 21, Political and Policy Director Rachel Richman will be moving on to a new chapter in her career.

During her time at Local 21, Rachel grew our volunteer base from a handful to hundreds, increased participation in the TJ Anthony candidate Political Action Committee from 6o to more than 400, generating nearly a quarter million for campaign contributions, and guided member participation to consider nearly 500 candidates and ballot measures for endorsement.

“After 8 years with Local 21, Rachel has a lot to be proud of.  By all measures, our political program has grown and become highly respected throughout Bay Area political circles.  And, believe me, that isn’t where we started.  There are members and chapters throughout the union who are now engaged in our political program to a much greater extent than when she began with Local 21.  Hiring a seasoned professional like Rachel was a real opportunity for Local 21, and I am very appreciative of her efforts on behalf of our membership. Local 21 has been very lucky to have Rachel. We thank her for all her hard work, and wish her the best on her new endeavors,” said Executive Director Bob Muscat.

Rachel not only improved our political program substantially, but boosted morale with her warm personality. She will be sorely missed by members and union staff alike for countless contributions to Local 21.
