Stand with San Jose City Workers for an Equitable Budget!

We are calling on Mayor Liccardo and San Jose City Council to create a budget that puts working people first.

San Jose is the nation’s 10th largest city – the heart of Silicon Valley – and home to a diverse, multicultural community of over 1 million residents. Our city is growing rapidly, but our city services aren’t keeping up. We have a major understaffing crisis: over 700 city jobs are not staffed, representing services that are not being provided.

We’ve seen the value and urgency of our public services in times of normalcy, but even more so in times of need. Our frontline city workers have put their lives on the line during the pandemic to provide essential services to the residents of San Jose: to alleviate hunger, provide educational support for families, respond to medical emergencies, and more.

San Jose isn’t broke. We are home to some of the wealthiest corporations in the country. We’re calling on the San Jose City Council to stand with essential workers and pass a budget that invests in the services our community needs.

It’s time for a San Jose for All.
