This Saturday! March & Rally with Bridge Workers on Baseball’s Opening Weekend

Come support the Golden Gate Labor Coalition workers as we enter into a second year of bargaining a new contract.

What: Rally & March in support of Golden Gate Bridge District Workers

When: Saturday, April 14 @ 4pm Rally, 4:30pm March to AT&T Park

Where: Harry Bridges Plaza (Market Street @ the Embarcadero across from the Ferry Building) San Francisco

Every baseball season, fans from around the Bay Area rely on Golden Gate Labor Coalition members to get them to the games by ferry, bus or bridge safely and on time. Unionized deckhands, captains, terminal assistants, mechanics, and other District workers have been fighting to keep healthcare affordable for their families since April 2011. While the Golden Gate Highway & Transportation District gave non-union employees a raise in July 2011, the District is now insisting on principle – not real economic need – that union members be forced into a healthcare premium sharing plan based on the increasing cost of enrollment. We all know that healthcare costs can increase dramatically from year to year, but Local 21 members can’t agree to give the District a blank check.

Join District union members who have joined together and are responsibly doing their part to solve the district's budget problem, while drawing a line to protect their families’ health insurance.
