SFUSD Chapter Submits Signed Mission Statement to School Board

The newly elected officers of the Local 21 San Francisco Unified School District chapter, along with members of the bargaining committee, wrote a new mission statement following the ratification of their new contract last month. The members gathered signatures and gave the signed statement to management at the last Labor Management Committee, as well as to the School Board.

Following a successful conclusion of negotiations with the San Francisco Unified School District, members of Local 21 attend an SFUSD school board meeting to gather signatures for its ongoing effort to maintain involvement in the union and to improve relationships and communication in order to continue achieving contractual gains for the greater benefit to students and to the school district as a whole. The mission statement “was warmly received by the School District at their board meeting on April 28 and enjoys the full support of the L21 members,” said Dave David R. Lanham, Operations Manager
at the SFUSD’s Ray Porter Center for Digital Equity. “The mission statement outlines the goals of excellence, professional skills and ethics members bring to the district in order to help it provide the best possible learning environment for students and staff.”
