The IFPTE Local 21 San Jose Bargaining Team has reached a tentative agreement (TA) with the City Administration for our wage reopener. The new TA keeps our contract in tact until it expires on June 30, 2023, but includes a pensionable wage increase of 4.5% starting the first pay period after July 1, 2022.
The verbiage is as follows:
Effective the first pay period in Fiscal Year 2022-2023, following union ratification and Council approval in open session, all salary ranges for employees holding positions in classifications assigned to MEF/CAMP/AEA/AMSP shall be increased by an additional approximate 1.50% based on the rate of pay as of June 25, 2022, for a total pensionable general wage increase of approximately 4.50% in Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
There are no qualifiers about 2023-2024—no special stipulations—only an acknowledgment that the City Council did not want to be in conflict with City employees.

Ratification Vote Schedule
Voting will take place from Thursday, June 2nd to Friday, June 17th. Votes will take place both virtually and in-person. There will be a short presentation on the tentative agreement at the beginning of the meetings at each vote location except the locations on the list with an asterisk (*). Votes will be counted on Friday, June 17th at close of business.
Lunch will be provided to members who RSVP.
