Negotiations for a successor agreement came to a close on July 7 when Local 21 and the District reached a tentative agreement. The final agreement includes a 4% raise effective August 1, 2015; a 4% raise on July 1, 2016; and a re-opener on wages and benefits in the third year. It also includes improved language for parental leave.
This is the largest wage increase ever negotiated in the history of SSA. Members voted unanimously to accept the new contract on July 10.
