Join Us! Cesar Chavez Day Parade & Festival, April 21


On Saturday, April 21, Local 21 members are encouraged to attend the 12th Annual Cesar Chavez Holiday Parade & Festival in San Francisco. This annual parade in the Mission draws a diverse crowd of participants and attendees from different demographics and cultures, and ends with the 24th Street Fair. It is more important than ever to remember Chavez, who used nonviolent tactics to pressureemployers to recognize the United Farm Workers Union as the bargaining agent for 50,000 field workers.


WHEN:Saturday, April 21, 2012, 10:00 AM


Parade begins at 11:00 AM at Dolores Park, and ends at the 24th Street Fair, 12 Noon to 6:00PM.


WHERE:The Parade will begin to assemble at 10 AM from Dolores Park on 19th Street to Guerrero, and embark on the parade route at 11 AM, proceeding to 24th Street. The parade will end with a 24th Street Fair between Treat and Bryant.


WHAT: The Festival and 24th Street Fair will feature music and entertainment, arts & crafts, community service, information booths and children’s activities. Merchants will have sidewalk sales and food will be available.
