IFPTE Local 21 Statement on Palestine and Israel: Ceasefire Now

IFPTE Local 21’s Executive Committee is horrified at the violence in Israel and Palestine. After hearing from dozens of our members, we release this statement.

We call upon the President and Congress to support:

Ceasefire Now: We grieve each and every life lost. An immediate ceasefire will prevent any more loss of precious life.

Release of All Hostages: Reunify families and heal communities in Palestine and Israel.

Rejection of Islamophobia, Anti-Semitism, Hate, and Harassment: An injury to one is an injury to all. Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, and hate have no place in our workplaces or in our communities. For any of our members experiencing any of the above, please contact us immediately.

Preserve and Protect Infrastructure and Distribute Humanitarian Aid: We build and maintain public infrastructure and public health facilities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in California. All people should have access to high quality public services, including clean water, wastewater, power, electricity, housing, and health care.

We commit to continued discussion with our members on how to bring our members together to better understand and learn about these issues.

We encourage our members to contact their Congressional representatives in support of the above values.

In Solidarity,

The IFPTE Local 21 Executive Committee
