On Saturday, April 21, Local 21 members are encouraged to attend the 12th Annual Cesar Chavez Holiday Parade & Festival in San Francisco. This annual parade in the Mission district draws a diverse crowd, and ends at the 24th Street fair. It is more important than ever to remember Chavez, who used nonviolent tactics to pressureemployers to recognize the United Farm Workers Union as the bargaining agent for 50,000 field workers.
The Festival and 24th Street fair will feature food, music, entertainment, arts & crafts, and children’s activities. The parade begins at 11am at Dolores Park, and ends at the 24th Street Fair between Treat and Bryant.
