Local 21 members overwhelmingly ratified an amendment to our bylaws,which will increase efficiency in our International Convention delegation election, and align its timing with our Executive Officer elections and terms of office. The amendment also allows for adjustments to our delegation to the International Union Convention to reflect our financial capacity, and ensures balance in the make-up of our delegation both by geographical area and in the breakdown between delegates who are and are not Executive Committee members.
Thank you to all members who took the time to vote and participate in Local 21’s decision-making process. It is essential to have high member turnout in internal elections to help keep Local 21 a democratic union. A special thanks to Javier Lacayo and Zach Seal, who served on the Election Committee and made sure that the election and vote count were done fairly.
