Former president of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, Angela Alioto, was on hand at a special luncheon to honor activists involved inLocal 21’s TJ Anthony Fund for Political Action on July 8.
Alioto discussed her work in San Francisco politics and her father Joseph Alioto’s time as mayor of San Francisco (1968-1976).
Since leaving the Board of Supervisors, Alioto has been practicing employment, civil rights and anti-discrimination law. Alioto won the largest Civil Rights verdict in the history of the United States in 2001, against IBC/Wonder Bread for $135 million.
