San Francisco Local 21 members are campaigning hard to elect Al Casciato to the SF Retirement Board. Casciato is a seasoned pension expert having served on the SF Retirement Board for more than 15 years. His competitor has been a negative force within the Board, earning the name the “Obstructionist.” His tactics and unacceptable behavior has caused internal issues that have contributed to the Pension Fund’s failure to meet its investment goals.
Ten unions have joined together to make a positive change to the Retirement Board in order to protect pension benefits. Local 21 Chapter leaders and staff are working to communicate with members to ensure they vote in this very important election. Voting closes on February 3rd.
