🚨 From Firefighters to Librarians: A United Front of Hundreds of San Jose City Workers Rally to Defend Public Services 🚨
On Thursday, March, 13, 2025 – in the torrential rain, wind, and hail – city workers gathered in front of San Jose’s MLK Jr. Library to protest budget cuts that threaten vital public services-like fire fighting, clean parks, libraries, animal care + control, and emergency dispatch.
#SanJoseForUs calls for a city that should and must work for ALL OF US. Budget cuts to our services go against everything we stand for.
“City leaders have an opportunity to determine whether our libraries continue to serve as beacons of knowledge and learning or become yet another casualty of political and financial neglect. If we want a future where every child, every family and every resident has access to opportunity, we must demand they choose the former.” –Angelica Ramos via San Jose Spotlight
